My
answers for the individual round (I'll revise when the key is available
... I got almost everything but am sure there are mistakes.)
1. $4 2. 288 3. 12 4. $320 5. 25/9 6. 48 7. 6 (Thanks Sam) 8. 648 9. Sharon 10. $300 11. 70pi 12. 11 13. 20m 14. 988 15. 1/182 (Thanks Sam) 16. corrected to read 450 not 440 makes the answer 840. 17. 376 18. 15/23 19 72 degrees 20. 90 21. 120 22. 59 23. 66,660 24. 15 25. 2 26. Seems to be an impossible diagram ... but I think 11 is the intended answer. 27. 48 ... remove the word cranberry throughout. 28. -2 29. (3-sqrt5)/2 ... but cos(36) is (1+sqrt5)/4 not (1+sqrt5)/2 as typed. 30. 18 I think ... 36, 44, 63, 451(6 permutations) 381(6) and 242(3) ... used Simon's FFT and some casework.
I spent more than 50 minutes ... but most of it was spent messing up on 28 and 29 (and figuring out the cos(36) error).
Congratulations to Carnage for winning the 1st place team prize at this year's Mach 8!
